Description
The zoo at Nogeyama Park was built as a result of Japan Foreign Trade Fair held in Showa 24 (1949). Because the visitors were so excited by the animals exhibited at the fair, Nogeyama Amusement Park including the zoo was opened in Showa 26 (1951) using the former site of the fair. It was renamed to Nogeyama Zoo in Showa 47 (1972).
From the viewpoint in the park, visitors can see across the ward.
