Description

It is believed the temple was built at the end of the Heian period and is famous for its 500 Rakan statues, and is rated as one of the three best temples for this in Japan. (Tochigi Prefecture tangible cultural property)
The temple holds important cultural property such as the Sen-Koshin-to (stone monument), Aizen Myo statue said to have been made by Jikakudaishi Ennin at the end of the Heian era.
It is also one of the temples of the Ashikaga Seven Lucky Gods Pilgrimage, praying to the three sided god of success and wealth.
