Strolling through Nishi-ward: Praying for Prosperity of our ward

“Flowers bloom the same way every year, but people do not remain the same.” It is written by a Chinese poet Ryuteishi, so when it says “flowers”, it can be any kind of flower, but I believe it must be cherry blossom. As you can see from my obsession with cherry blossom, cherry blossom is essential for the spirit of Japanese people.

Around ten years ago, some old cherry blossom trees were cut down as part of militance of Prefectural office building and it caused controversy. However, it is great to see those short cherry blossoms at the time have beautifully grown up.

After separating from Naka-ward during a chaotic time of the end of the war, Nishi-ward has experienced various history of hardship until today. Time flies very fast and this year marks the 60th year anniversary of the establishment of Nishi-ward. Let’s celebrate our history of the past 60 years and let’s pray for the further prosperity of our ward.
