Description
Strolling through Nishi-ward: Chibikko-toride (Little Kinds’ Fortress)
Sakainotani is said to be parted from small administrative unit of Nishi-tobe. The area was filled with fields at the time. But it turned into residential center leaving no remnant of the past. Sakainotani park is located at the corner of the area. Even though it is close to heavy-traffic arterial highway, the atmosphere of the park is like a different world. It is surrounded by beautiful nature.
There are 34 parks in Nishi-ward. Among them, this park is 9,353 square kilometers, which is way bigger than other parks. Especially, a fairly-tale-like log house in the park (aka Chibikko-toride or Little Kinds’ Fortress) is outstanding. It has great facilities and is well-maintained. You can always hear the sound of kids having fun. The facility is for children under 15 (※) and open from 9am to 5pm. Every third Monday is closed in principle. Without going for outing, you can have a lot of fun here.
※Pre-school children must be accompanied by a guardian.
