Onko Chishin! Trek-trek Sketch in Nishi-ward 51: Megami Bridge

The new bridge near Pukari Pier was completed in March this year. It passes by the Pacifico Yokohama in the Minatomirai 21 area and exits next to the Rinko Park. In front of the Pukari-Pier, at the mouth of the Oooka River, is the Megami Bridge, a pedestrian bridge. It was rebuilt because tourist boats could not pass under it. It is 75 meters long, 6.8 meters wide and slightly raised in the middle.
The bridge links the seafront from Rinko Park to Hammerhead Park and the Red Brick Warehouse. It is a great place to take a stroll and enjoy the view of the harbor.
The name Megami Bridge was chosen by a public vote. The name comes from the bronze statue of goddess at the top of the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel, which stands in front of the bridge.
Standing on the bridge, the wind blowing through the harbor is very pleasant. The boundary between Nishi-ku and Naka-ku is located in the middle of the bridge. When I look up, I can see the statue of the goddess in the hotel.
