Onko Chishin! Trek-trek Sketch in Nishi-ward: Yokohama Station East Exit

Whenever I go to the Yokohama Station, it is always busy and full of people.

When I go out the station at East exit, I walk on the ground, not a busy underground shopping arcade.

Current station building was opened in 1980 (Showa 55). But I remember the previous building, the massive 3rd generation of Yokohama station building which was built in 1928 (Showa 3).

Its ceiling was very high, so there was no oppressing feeling and I can walk calmly. The concourse in front of the ticket gate used to be a meeting spot for field trip and school trip, where I have experienced some meetings and partings.

The east exit used to be a main entrance of Yokohama. There used to be stations of municipal railway bound for Hodogaya, Honmoku, Takigashira and so on. I remember ding-ding sound of the municipal railway echoing at the east exit.
