Onko Chishin! Trek-trek Sketch in Nishi-ward: Nogeyama Zoo

Going up the Nogezaka Hill, you will find Nogeyama Zoo, which opened in 1951 (Showa 26) and has since been loved by people in Yokohama. Some of those who were kids when the zoo first opened in 1951 now became grandparents. Now they bring their grandchildren or even great-grandchildren to the zoo and enjoy their time together.

Currently there are around 90 different species of animal in the zoo. You can see camels, red-pandas, giraffes, penguins and peacocks, which are all kid’s favorite animals. “Animal Feeding Time” where zookeepers give commentary is very fun.
