Description

This shrine was founded in Tenpo 10 (1839) by Kyube Hiranuma who succeeded in reclaiming Hiranuma-cho, and enshrines a god of healthy birth and water.
It began when an amulet from Suitengu Shrine washed ashore at a waterway in the saltpan, and it was enshrined as the protector of Hiranuma Shinden farm land. It is told that drinking hot water boiled at Yutate Shinji (“water boiling ceremony”) held on January 5 of every year can prevent catching cold for the year.
