Description
Shikishima’s name comes from the beginning of the famous waka poem on cherry blossoms by Norinaga Motoori. The poem was inspired by a scenic site for viewing cherry blossoms that was here in the past, Sakura River, connecting with this river to flow towards Takashima-cho.
Come springtime, cherry blossoms bloom along the Ishizaki River where the bridge is located.
